Design, analysis, and experiment of an innovative embedded compact continuously variable transmission with flexible metal V-belt

The existing deceleration systems in industrial robots often employ rotate vector (RV) or harmonic reducers to augment torque and decrease speed, yet achieving the motor’s peak power proves challenging. Given extremely high space-size demands for reduction robotic applications, an innovative compact continuously variable transmission is suggested, leveraging characteristics of spatial gear trains metallic V-belts. proposed system utilizes input eccentric shaft drive planetary pulley’s rotation around sun pulley. pinhole, cooperation with pulley, achieves coaxial output power. article primarily explores speed change mechanisms, then dissects relationships between ratio effective radius axial adjustment distance, factors influencing wrapping angle. Further, we use Lagrange equation derive equation, establishing correlation angle inertia, angular acceleration, velocity, working over time. Finally, simulate transmission’s motion examine changes forward, reverse, neutral states. A prototype a testing platform are also constructed assess performance parameters, specifically torque, rotational speed.
